After looking at the customer profile I have I wanted to give live examples of the 'teens' who I hope will actually be reading the magazine. This generation of 'teens' are technologically lead culture so I turn first to the young fashion bloggers who are getting attention for their unique style through their own sites. They have set up these blogs to share their fashion style but also their opinion on fashion trends and general society and by this influencing the generation to create there own personal style.
Tavi Gevinson is an American fashion blogger that began her career at the tender age of 11 with her blog
Style Rookie. She has been featured in countless magazines such as POP, Teen Vogue, New York Times...the list goes on. Tavi has such a unique approach to fashion and has been said to inspire many young to become more unique in the way they dress, but also is said to be the inspiration behind the Rodarte collection for Target - her fan base is large. All this has been through the power of one unique individual who just wanted to share her style.
Jane Aldridge began her blog at age 15 as a way to pass time between exams. She is based in Texas and her blog was initial based on her love for shoes (
Sea of Shoes). Now she discusses events, fashion and accessories and has proven to have a huge readership and has been featured in countless magazines as well as collaborating with brands such as Urban Outfitters where she had her own shoe collection designed and sold. Jane is another prime example of the popularity of alternative fashion, something that is not currently available as a reference for the the teen demographic.
Both of these teens are what I would consider my ideal customer for my magazine.
