Looking for an illustrator

 Hi,

I am starting up a new magazine to be launched next year as a sister magazine to Sketchbook Magazine.  http://www.sketchbookmagazine.com/
I need an illustrator to design the logo asap.  Its very simple in the style of the current sketchbook logo.
The illustrator will be credited when the magazine goes to press next year but also on the various website that the logo will be featured on.  I hope that this will lead to future collaboration within the magazine also.

please contact me asap

Hi Sara,

Is the sketchbook logo literally the word but in a handwritten style?  I would be really interested in doing this, I am a third year Illustration student and love the look of the mag.

Thanks,
Lucy Evans

Hey,

Im happy to try and give the logo a go. If you let me know what you want on the logo then i can give it a go and send it to you to see if you like it, and if not then either alter it or if you have someone else in mind go with them.

Let me know,

Thanks

Natasha

Hi Sara,

Was wondering if you have already received interest from someone else in creating a logo. If not then I would be very much interested, though when would you like it for?

My name is Hayley LionBear, I'm second year Illustration, and i would be very happy to help you with your logo design. I would just like to apologize for taking a week to get back to you, I have a deadline friday and have been busy working on that. If you could message me back with some more info on what you would like, i will work on some sketches over the weekend.
Thank you for you time.

 Hi All

thanks for you response

I am always open to ideas so if you have the time it would be great to see some - the magazine is for the teen demographic and is called Teenbook.  for the logo we were looking at keeping the sketchbook font for the book section of the logo and using something cool for the teen bit - not too designed as it will be on a cover which will be a mix of illustration and digital manipulation.
If you don't want to do this I will keep you all on file as when the magazine gets compiled i will need a variety of illustrators and contact you at a later date.

Thanks again

Hi Sara,

Ok, ill take that on board and mock up some ideas. If there is a specific time you need it by then let me know, otherwise ill try and get some ideas together and try and send it to you tomorrow afternoon if thats ok?

Thanks

Natasha

Hi Natasha

Bascially the magazine is for the Teen demographic.  So to keep it simple we are going to call it Teen Book.  Its really important that the Book part is in the sketchbook magazine logo style.  I was thinking for the whole title to be the same but am considering playing with the 'Teen' bit.  The Magazine is for 13-17 yr.  If you could send me the, 'Teen Book' 'Teenbook'  in the sketchbook magazine format I would be incredibly grateful and then maybe we can looking into playing around with it at a later date.

When would you be able to do this by?
Thanks for your help
Sara

Hey Sara

Ive done a basic idea for a logo (see attachment), using the original sketchbook logo and just mixing it around just to get a general idea of the look. Would you prefer a small t or a capital T for teen, also do u want it to be one word or two (i can try both of each of these if you want a general idea). Also did u want me to just use the 'book' part of the sketchbook logo directly and then do the teen part myself or try all of it? (Also can try both). Sorry for all the questions,

Thanks

Natasha

HI, sorry for the de;ay in getting back to you, my macbook is with apple but hopefully next week i will get it back.   think i definitely prefer the t as a capital. could you possibly try the word together and as one? also if i could have it in the style od sketchbook initially then if you want to play around with the teen part then i would be defineitly open to some ideas...as long as its young looking and possibly in colour? i think its important to keep the book part definitely the same so people can see the link between the 2 mags.
if you could get me asap Teen Book and Teenbook in the orginal text (tomorrow or tuesday if possible) and the others whenever you can fit it in.
thanks for your help xx

Hey

Dont worry, i couldnt live without my laptop. Ive done a few different ones, both as teenbook and teen book, with two different captial T's. Let me know if there ok or not, and ill try and work on some other ideas for the teen bit. Any preferences on colour?

Thanks

Hi, I definitely prefer the straight T's.  I'm looking at the logo and am definitely thinking that the Teen bit should be different.  I am thinking a lot more simple yet young. If you search teen vogue on google images you can see how the teen part of the title is in a thicker and bolder font.  Ifyou can show me some ideas for fonts in this place that would be great and then all we have to do is add the colour. thanks xx

Hi Sara

I have done a few more logo ideas. Once again they can be developed further, just playing around with mixing the 'teen' with the original 'book' part of the sketchbook logo. Have used colour in some for an idea but other left plain that colour could easily be added to if needed. Most of the font is handmade but if you wanted something more individual or the complete opposite and more design like using existing fonts let me know.

Thanks

Natasha

Hi, thanks for getting back to me so quickly...i think the best one is definitely the 'shadow' one.
could you possibly try something a bit 'different'.  I am thinking that because the 'book' part is more written looking the teen bit should be more structured, I don't think it should have any think of shading to keep it simple.

thanks again

Sorry! I never make sense. I was thinking a no to shading because i think it just makes it a bit fussy and we want to keep it simple.  I really need them as soon as so i can put it on the press release and start promoting the magazine for contributors ect...
thank you!

ok not to worry. I wont be able to do them tonight, but can try and get it to you by tomorrow, Friday the latest? If this is a problem let me know but as soon as I have a spare minute there first on my list. :)
